3D printing : 4D PIONEERS, an emerging start-up for spare parts in the industry.

3D printed pieces are quite common in prototyping prior to industrial machining. But 3D printed pieces for direct industrial use is much less developed. A start-up linked to Centrale Lille has invested this promising sector.

"The usual process to produce a piece requires the extraction from an initial block, a soustractive process which results in wasted material. 3D printing allows us to save a lot of primary resources, leading to lower production cost. We can produce a piece on-demand, up to 1000 pieces."
