"3D printing has a major role to play in the fight against obsolescence" according to Nicolas Gay, co-founder of 4D Pioneers

Hosted in Centrale Lille, the young start-up 4D PIONEERS wants to leverage 3D impression as a solution for industrials to limit the obsolescence of their equipments. For Industrie & Technologies, Nicolas Gay, its co-founder, details the large panel of knowledge and innovations the start-up and its partners want to build upon in order to meet the needs of industries such as rail and nuclear.

"Instead of replacing an entire machine when a piece is no longer manufactured, we can recreate them on-demand. 3D printing is ideal to bring the right functional piece at the right place, while avoiding the stock management of spare parts."
